North & South Shuswap Community Resource Association

The "North & South Shuswap Community Resource Association" exists to serve the vision that all children in the North and South Shuswap will grow up to reach their full potential intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually, through acceptance and support from their families, caregivers and the community.

It is our desire to partner with children and their caregivers, as well as with the community, to provide the resources needed for healthy development and to encourage the skills needed for our children to become life long learners.

To help accomplish this, we have many short and long term goals which include such things as:

• Increase our community’s capacity to provide a range of health, social and educational services
• Provide a Family Resource Center hub
• Forming a non-profit society in order to gain access to better funding for our community
• Maintaining the long term sustainability of the successful Playgroup at SLE
• Work towards extra curricular community building programs in our area
• Increase the awareness of the importance of investing in healthy child development
• Promote and help to develop a wide range of options for safe physical fitness building activities
