What is Cedar Heights Community Association?

CHCA was founded as a non-profit charitable society in September, 1974. In July 1977, ownership of the Cedar Centre together with it's parklands was transferred to the CHCA through a Deed of Trust to be held in perpetuity for the benefit of the residents of Cedar Heights.

CHCA Memberships: A small fee for individual or family membership is due yearly by April 1st, which entitles members to participate in activities at a reduced rate.

CHCA Facilities

GolfPar 3 Golf: A par 3 golf course is located beside the Cedar Centre, and is maintained by the CHCA. CHCA members may purchase an annual golf membership which permits play at any time. For non-members, a daily Green Fee is payable. Volunteer Monitors assist in the collection of Green Fees during the season. Golf Club rentals are available. Several golf tournaments are organized during the summer and are posted on the Notice Board at the Centre.

Tennis: A tennis court is accessible adjacent to the golf course. CHCA members may purchase an annual Tennis membership which permits members to play during reserved times. For non-members, a court fee is payable.

Keep Fit: The fitness program at Cedar heights has been growing since 1978 when a group of ladies began working out to audio tapes. Today, Cedar Heights supports and sponsors the training of BCRPA Certified Fitness Instructors and offers Aerobic and Weight Resistance Training for both women and men. Rates are very reasonable because our instructors volunteer their time to the community. Membership may be purchased for the Fall to Spring Session (September to May) or the Summer Session (June to September). "Drop in" classes are also available. Everyone Welcome!

Horseshoe Pitch: Two horseshoe pitches are available during the summer. Horseshoes can be obtained from the Sports Monitors.

Canada Post Mail Boxes: Mail is delivered to Cedar Heights residents’ boxes under cover on the lower level at the Centre.

For more information about the above mentioned facilities, please see names and phone numbers posted at the Centre or contact us by email.

The Cedar Centre is a two-level chalet overlooking beautiful Shuswap Lake. It has a natural gas covered barbeque. The hall and the golf course can be rented for a half-day, an evening, or a full day for social, business or family functions. Ample parking is available on both levels. Memorial funeral services are at no charge to members. Email us for more information.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is "to enhance the quality of life for the community as a whole through the provision of educational, cultural, charitable, athletic and community programs, civic/social issues advocacy to the benefit of our Cedar Heights residents, our Sorrento and Blind Bay neighbours." Thus, residents are empowered through membership in the Association to manage and innovate on behalf of its residents to meet needs of the community.

Support for our programs and the operation of the facilities comes from voluntary participation and income from activities. CHCA is managed by Officers and Directors elected annually at a General Meeting each year in June. We encourage the participation and support of all interested area residents for our programs and activities. It is these programs; namely, Keep Fit, golf, tennis and rentals, that pay for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Cedar Centre as well as the land that it owns.
